Shaw Wang Ye Temple

In the end of Qing dynasty, Zhou A-Mon who is from Chuen Chow brought his family to Ma-Tsu for a while for fishing every year. And his brother Zhou A-Mon came with a Shaw Wan Ye statue with them. After Qing dynasty end, the Zhou family decided to move to Bei-Gan, and the golden statue was worshiped in Zhou's house. When others knew about the statue, they started to worship it as well, and they even founded the community of Shaw Wang Ye. They built up the Shaw Wang Ye temple until 1977 by the fundraising and donation from Jiang Yuan-Chuen and Wang Sue-Guang. In 1984, the temple main gate is built up in the aid of department of Bei-Gao military command.

Story of Shaw Wang Ye

Shaw Wang Ye, his real name is Shaw Wang -Tsu, who was an outstanding minister in Han dynasty. He had made a great contribution on management, diplomacy and judicature, and he was the prince's teacher as well. After, He was framed and he suicide. People built a temple for him and regarded him as a god.

南京先生

北竿島塘岐村玉封【蕭王府】廟二樓右側神龕供奉的一尊神，信徒都尊稱『南京先生』。在西元1919年間，當時【蕭王府】尚未建廟，來自福建惠安的周府有一女眷身染重病，家人用盡各式藥理偏方都未見效；於是家人《起乩》問神請示『蕭王爺』，『蕭王爺』示喻：「女眷之病，須遠至南京，請一位名醫，若此名醫願意來，此女方得有救」。於是『蕭王爺』親自遠赴南京，化做一位書生模樣，到先生開立的醫館拜會，不巧遇到先生出外看診未歸，只留夫人在醫館內看顧。於是『蕭王爺』便向夫人說明來意，自懷中取出一錠元寶及一只信籤，交與夫人並交代說：「待先生歸來，有勞夫人將此物交與先生，先生看後便知曉」。數日後，先生自外診返家，夫人便將此事，告知與先生，說：「元寶與信籤都放在案上抽屜裡」。先生打開抽屜，見一信籤而元寶已成一疊銀紙。先生暗知來醫館者非庶人也。於是將醫館事務一一囑咐給夫人，自己便沐浴更衣，換上一身素衣，赴『蕭王爺』之邀約。隨即指示上山採藥與調配方法，數日後周府女眷病癒，事傳地方鄉里，民眾們莫不嘖嘖稱奇。自此凡是有人生病，都來祈求先生醫治，都很靈驗。眾信徒感念不已，希望雕塑金身奉祀，請『先生』示與名諱，『先生』推脫不肯告知，於是信徒們感念『先生』恩澤，便以『南京先生』尊稱至今。現今，在廟內還留有一塊寫滿中醫藥材的布帖，以往當信徒們問診看病時，『南京先生』開立藥方除了以鑾轎寫出藥材名稱外，偶而也會用此布帖，點出藥名使用。
